I AM WHO I AM ... I AM has sent me to you

If you're like me, I bet you think Moses was expecting a different answer to his request of God for His name. Imagine Moses going over the scene in his mind before he takes God's message to Pharaoh. The most powerful man on earth says,

"So, what is the name of your god who makes demands of ME?"

Moses says, "I AM."

Pharaoh: "Huh? Could you repeat that? It sounded like you said 'I AM'."

See, God didn't tell Moses,

"I WAS" or

"I WILL BE," but

"I AM."

Now, this very moment, God is "THE ONE WHO IS WHO WAS AND WHO IS TO COME," (Revelation 1:8) and He never said that His name is,

"I WAS" or

"I WILL BE",

"I HOPE TO BE" but

"I AM."

This is simple but mind-blowing, “I AM” is a clear statement of real, right now existence. Our trouble with this simplicity is that, in our limited grey matter between our ears, WE DON’T KNOW WHO WE ARE. We struggle to live in the moment. let alone stay in the moment, because our moments so depend on our yesterday's and our tomorrows that TODAY is canceled out, blanked out so to speak. We live our lives trying to be who we were never meant to be. It's like we have amnesia and can't remember who God says we are.

Let me ask you a question. How often do you try to get away from your past hoping to make a better future? You’re not alone. I’ve found hoping for a better future someday is the basic operating manual of the world you grew up in. If you will just observe it with the new eyes that the Spirit has given you, it would jump out in front of you everywhere you looked!

Let this sink in, there is only ONE TRUE SOURCE OF LIFE, and it is the life of God. He is the I AM. John 17:3 - “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true supreme and sovereign God, and in the same manner know Jesus as the Christ whom You have sent.” Isn't that wonderful?

You can’t learn how to live this life by practice and trying harder; it’s “learned” in Christ, for he was born of God. So then, forget all your religious "dos and don'ts" and "oughts and shoulds" they can’t help you, they were never meant to. Paul the apostle reminds us where all his trying got him,

“Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will rescue me and set me free from this body of death this corrupt, mortal existence?” Clearly he came to the end of himself and stopped trying to get, what he already possessed in Christ. Romans 6, 7, and 8 was his experience of coming to realize what he clearly had in Christ.

"So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. 2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law was unable to accomplish, because the law was limited by the weakness of human nature."

Since the case is closed here’s the good news, if Christ is in you, you have already received the life of “I AM”! This is eternal life, and it is Christ. Do you realize that life can only be lived in the present? Think about it. Is it possible to LIVE in yesterday? Is it possible to LIVE in tomorrow? No, it is ALWAYS today.

It's not even one second ago or one minute from now, it's NOW. So, here's my question. What's this "life" that we've picked up from the world, the life that is bound by the bondage of the past and illusions of the future? Hmmm, how do you see it, from your perspective or from God's perspective?

When you're stuck in the past, you forget He's already taken care of that. When you can think only of the future, you forget He's already there. Live the life that is NOW, it's the life of God, the "I AM". Really, no matter how many years from NOW it will STILL be the life that is NOW.

It's a belief that is in fact not true that you can live anywhere else. For it is only in Christ that everything of God lives in bodily form. And He's in you. He took you out of the old and made you new. Already. NOW.

Galatians 2:20 The Passion Translation (TPT)

20 “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine!?
